and I mean the real childhood (not only) traumas, where a father is either physically or mentally abusing his child, and how that later results in the protagonists character development. or just subtly complex communication/ total absence of a father figure, even if he’s present there physically) i want a book from a female author, but not necessarily. i am currently reading Your love is not good by Johanna Hedva, and also really loved Crying in h mart and On earth we’re briefly gorgeous (not the same, i know, but if you get the pain, you get it). and i also remembered couple of other books where the main characters have complicated relationships with their mothers. but I don’t think i had ever read anything similar about daughter -father relationships. now i need something like that to savour and destroy myself.
p.s. similar by the possible pain inflicting novels about mothers like the ones i listed above are also welcome, cause one can never have too much.

The Distant Lands of my Father by Bo Caldwell
A List of cages. He’s not really having father issues but he’s being abused by his uncle. I recently read this for my English class and loved it.
