Looking for something on the marriage between private companies and public institutions.

The military Industrial complex and the for profit Healthcare system are easy examples of this, and I’m fine with reading more about it; but I’d like something that delves deeper into the seemingly benign institutions and private corporations manipulation of them.

Possible subjects: Prison contracting, school products (just read about how school pictures and rings are bullshit* lol), trash pickup… I’m realizing I just want a detailed summary of covert monopolistic tendencies that aren’t obvious. Any such material is welcome though.
