I’m coming off of a few intense reads (non-fiction inner child stuff, a few murder novels, and a book on death). I love depth (hence the selections), but I need some books that are brilliant but won’t leave me depressed and in a hole for days. 😞😅

Some examples of ones I’ve liked in that realm: Where’d You Go Bernadette, Piranesi, Endure, the Beartown series. I am a fan of psychology and sports performance nonfiction (I’ve read all of Malcolm Gladwell’s stuff), as well as faith-based books.

    Thanks, internet friends!

    1. **The Power of Now: A Guide to Spiritual Enlightenment by Eckhart Tolle**
An uplifting non-fiction book about spirituality and mindfulness, that will leave you inspired

      **The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho**
An uplifting tale of a young shepherd on a journey of self-discovery. This allegorical novel is thought-provoking but not overwhelming

**Born a Crime: Stories from a South African Childhood by Trevor Noah**
While it has its intense moments, Trevor Noah’s life story is a refreshing and inspiring tale filled with humor and resilience

    2. I recommend Mr. Penumbra’s 24 Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan 🙂 A bit of mystery and action while still staying thoughtful.

*A Psalm for the Wild-Built* by Becky Chambers

It’s only about 100 pages long and is like the cool side of the pillow for your mind.

Do you like tea? You’ll want a cup while you read.
