Ive read his 3 most famous stories (Metamorphosis, In the Penal Colony, and a Hunger Artist) all 3 i understood pretty well. However, I want to read Description of a Struggle and The Trial very badly but have heard theyre very confusing and surreal. I tried to read the former and got about a third of the way through and dropped it because i had no idea what was happening. Any help or advice with getting into Kafka’s more surreal works? What story (stories ideally) would be best for transitioning into the more confusing and surreal writing style of his other works?
