Accepting any other mythologies but mainly looking for those five. I’m willing to learn about other mythologies as well.

Even better if the book contains multiple mythologies.

    1. Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. He also wrote American Gods which references many mythological figures.

I can’t recall the names but Stephen Fry has written some about greek myths people seem to enjoy

The Palace of Illusions and The Forest of Enchantments both feature Indian mythology

Slightly off topic but. What’s the difference between mythology and religion? Like when does religion become mythology?

    5. Robert Graves: the Greek Myths.

Homer: the Odyssey, the Iliad (don’t settle for less, with a prose translation these are highly readable for anyone over the age of about 12)

The Norse Myths by Kevin Crossley-Holland

Robin Hood by Roger Lancelyn Green

The Mabinogion and the History (not!) of the Kings of Britain by Geoffrey of Monmouth
