* The Diamond Age by Neal Stephenson. Primarily follows a girl from a broken home growing into an adult, but there is a father-daughter relationship between side characters that is very wholesome. Overall the way the kids and parents are written here is very well done. I’d assume the author wrote this right after becoming a parent but I couldn’t actually find the ages of his kids in order to tell for sure.
* The Corroded Man by Adam Christopher. This is a novel set in the Dishonored video game setting. It should still make sense without having played the games. It features the same father-daughter relationship established there.
* Honorary mention: Rainbows End by Vernor Vinge. Primarily about a grandfather-granddaughter, but the parents are there too.
