I am just about to finish reading “Churchill: Walking With Destiny” by Andrew Roberts, which has been \*quite\* the ride, and I want to stay in the past for awhile, specifically in the interwar years. I have a number of general history books about that period, but I’m looking for individual bios/memoirs now.
It doesn’t have to be political, I also recently read an interesting book about Daphne DuMaurier. Just any interesting personalities really. And they don’t have to be British or American, the general time period is more what I’m going for.

It’s a novelization, but Daddy Was a Numbers Runner was based on the author’s childhood in Harlem in the great depression, and it’s a really fast interesting read.
A Moveable Feast by Hemingway is a fantastic glimpse into life among the expatriates in Paris in the early 20s.
Down and out in Paris and London – George Orwell
Cider with Rosie – Laurie Lee
Here I Stand by Paul Robeson.
