I absolutely love the vibe of Anne of Green Gables, just the feel of growing up, slice of life, etc. I’ve also enjoyed the author’s other series Emily of New moon. Other books I like are The Penderwicks, Caddie Woodlawn, and The Little House books.

*A Girl of the Limberlost* by Gene Stratton-Porter.
*The Wolfling* by Sterling North, about a prairie youth in Wisconsin, featuring real-life naturalist Thure Kumlien as a secondary character.
More fantasy/sci fi- Catherine M Valente’s Fairyland series, A Wrinkle in Time, Tress of the Emerald Sea, Enchanted Forest Chronicles, Diana Wynn Jones.
If you haven’t read LM Montgomery’s The Blue Castle it’s one of my all time faves, but a bit more “grown up” than Anne.

Maybe [A Tree Grows in Brooklyn](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/dc5de2f5-b132-4c4c-8e49-8bf46005d5da) by Betty Smith? It’s not quite the same, but I remember connecting to the main character in similar ways to how I connected to Anne as a child.
Also, how about [The Railway Children](https://app.thestorygraph.com/books/f57e9651-b1b1-4a15-9ebd-7a57f4740bad) by E. Nesbit?:
There was a series about Laura Ingalls Wilder’s daughter called the Rocky Ridge Years that had me very captivated in my pre-teens, you might enjoy!
I Capture The Castle by Dodie Smith.
