Hello! Not sure if this is the best place, but I am a lecturer who was randomly assigned a 19th-Century World Lit class. I have taught extensively in related areas, but my specialty is American Lit (18th and 19th) and I have been assigned many World Lits (beginnings to contemporary). Looking at my list for this very specific timespan, it is almost entirely made up of American and British authors, with a dash of people like Pushkin and Ibsen. Even World Lit anthologies in this time period seem to be extremely focused on American and British writers.
Any suggestions for additions that could bring a bit more diversity to the readings? Anyone I should read to help expand my own horizons in this time period?
Thanks!
