I (32F) have known that Flowers for Algernon was on all of those “must read” lists, but I had avoided it for years thinking the writing style would be that more difficult, classical type. Boy, was I wrong. It has been years since I have felt like I truly did not want to put down my book or would hustle to get to a point where I could pick the reading back up. The character development in this story is simply phenomenal.
So what do I read next? What books can you recommend that really just reach out and grab on to you the way Charlie Gordon grabbed hold of me?
