I just read Circe by Madeline Miller and Medea by Eilish Quin. I liked both of them, still I would have preferred it for both of them being more… wrathful, especially the later. Both protagonists felt a little bit too much like small boats getting tossed around by waves in a stormy ocean that are the people around them instead of women with an own agenda, spine and power to me.
I really like the retelling actual trend of retelling of greek mythology and fantasy and sci-fi in general, so are there any books in that genres where the protagonist is a women – but where she embraces her shrewdness, her wrath and isn’t paralyzed by guilt? With a character or personality that isn’t the product of her (miserable) parents, faith or upbringing but _despite_ of it.

Lore Olympus webcomic is a good one if you like Greek mythology where female wrath is an explicit theme.
*The Birth of Venus* by Sarah Dunant.
