My kids (between 6 and 11) are all very advanced readers for their ages. It’s getting tricky to find them books that are an appropriately challenging reading level, but are still emotionally appropriate. I have no doubt my middle kid could blow through The Hunger Games, but I don’t really want him reading The Hunger Games at his age, you know?
Some recent favourites that meet these requirements have been Word of Mouse by James Patterson (for the youngest) and Tress of the Emerald Sea by Brandon Sanderson (for the older two). Also the Alcatraz vs the Evil Librarians series, and the Chronicles of Narnia. I would appreciate any other recommendations you have!
