Hi! Recently read Dolores Claiborne and absolutely loved it. However, it’s not necessarily due to the book’s horror genre appeal. Rather, I enjoyed the woman-centered narrative and dealing with the topic of incestuous abuse. As a survivor of such, I would love to find some similar fictional stories of people escaping these situations and/or getting revenge. I find it very cathartic.
I’m NOT looking for fiction about mutual/enjoyed incest, but rather non-consensual incest, preferably between father and child. Non-fiction accounts which read in a story-like manner are also fine, just no self-help or psychology stuff. I have a therapist for that.
Now that I think about it, any books including revenge against an abuser, even if not for incestuous abuse, are welcome as well. Reading about Joe St George getting his due in Dolores Claiborne was incredibly satisfying, lol.
