I started the habit of doodling on my books, highlighting passages that I deemed important, scribbling my thoughts, and jotting down the meanings of some obscure words. I had never been an advocate of doodling in books, but I felt it would be a waste not to do so. What’s the point of being overly cautious about writing in my book when I’ve already paid for it? It would be no different from a library book or a new book if I didn’t fill its pages with my own traces.
Using books clean is just as nice as doodling on them. For example, I won’t make any traces of me when I read literature…
Any thoughts on this idea? Do you doodle on your books? Why and why not?
