My teenage son has lost interest in reading. Can you recommend some genres or titles for him?
He used to love reading, starting with comics and graphic novels like Big Nate and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. In early elementary grades, he enjoyed books by Kate DiCamillo, Katherine Applegate, and Neil Gaiman. Later in mid of elementary school, he preferred authors like Gary Paulsen, Jason Reynolds, and Gordon Korman. As he progressed in elementary school, his interest waned. He finds most books either too simple, too deep, too serious, too dark, too intense, or too romantic. The last book he really read was The Martian, about 2-3 years ago.
Any recommendations for a young high schooler?
