    1. Dude, I know exactly how you feel because a couple years ago I was you! Everything changes when you convince yourself that it doesn’t matter how long it takes you to read a book, and that if you read some of a book and you genuinely don’t like it you’re not a failure for dropping the book and on to the next one… personally I like the books about real life adventurers. my favorite author is Peter Capstick; who is just a fascinating individual… I highly recommend [https://amzn.to/3X0HIme](https://amzn.to/3X0HIme) which is his first book

    2. What are you interested in? Start there.

Also, graphic novels/comic books are a great place to start.

Head down to your local library and see what they have. Feel free to chat with a librarian about finding something else to read. I promise they will be delighted to help you.

    3. Start with something fun and easy – Percy Jackson series is great for a first series.

What anyone should start with depends on the anyone. It will be different with everyone. Age, sex, political leanings, life experiences, it all affects what one may be prone to enjoy. Then we all go through different emotional phases as life happens that might affect what we’d be inclined to better enjoy or need at a given point in our life.

Having said all that, and if you don’t have a decent library nearby, I recommend getting a trial membership to an ebook or audiobook provider with a “limited unlimited” library … such as kindle unlimited or Audible Plus. Then be aggressive in trying different things. Hopefully in several weeks you will have a new sense of what better holds your attention in terms of genre and/or writing style.

And … Consider audiobooks. Some people just respond better to them. There’s countless audiobooks with amazing narration performances and a few that kind of suck but you have to give them a proper chance.

If you want a good Sci fi book series, I recommend micheal vey. I haven’t read them in a while, but they’re very interesting books about a group of kids with electrical based powers. It’s one of my favorite series, and I read it when I was in 3rd and 4th grade, so it might be a good place to start if it sounds interesting. I would recommend looking at a basic description because I haven’t read them in a while. I wish you luck on your reading journey. I recently started reading again and got really into fantasy, so now I’m searching for dark fantasy as it’s my favorite genre. I wish you the best of luck on your journey.
