As someone who’s always on the lookout for the next great read, I often find myself overwhelmed by the sheer number of choices out there. Whether it’s recommendations from friends, bestseller lists, or the latest award-winning novels, there’s just so much to choose from.
I usually go with the flow, picking up whatever catches my eye at the moment, but I’ve been wondering if there’s a more systematic way to go about this.

So, how do you all choose your next book? Do you follow a specific method, like reading through an author’s entire works, or do you let fate decide by picking up a random book at the store? I’m curious to hear your strategies and recommendations for how you discover your next favorite read.

    1. If i were to apply my strategies from shows to books I would sort them by year. And reread all 10 years.
So basically right now I would read some recommended books from 2013 or 2003 ig

I look through all my TBR pile and pick out all the books that stick out to me that day. I then arrange them into an array on the floor looking at their covers, summaries, author bios, et cetera and do my best to eliminate them one by one–until there’s only one. And that’s the one I read. It can take a while–I’m very indecisive.

    3. I have a stack of books I’ve already purchased, and I choose the next one from that by vibes.

    4. I read popular history 99% of the time, so I basically just think about the topic I want to learn more about, go to the book store, see if they have a book on that topic, scan a page or two to see if the writing style and I will get along and then buy it (or buy another title).

the things I want to know more about is basically determined by what I’ve seen or read that week and if anything piqued my interest in particular.
