My wife loves fantasy books and is trying to introduce it to me but I’ve had trouble getting into the genre in other mediums. I haven’t tried books yet.
I’m interested in the characters going on a long journey, which of course brings up the Lord of the Rings. She has suggested The Way of Kings or The Wheel of Time as alternatives, but of these three books I wonder if the high fantasy language would be too hard for me to get into.
Are there any other books I should be considering, or does Reddit think sticking to these books are the best entry point?
