As my title says, I don't know how to describe what I'm looking for. Maybe it's character driven? Maybe it's characters who have to overcome a lot? I have a tendency to wind up in reading slumps that last months but here are some books that I couldn't put down that brought me out of my slump:
Demon copperhead
The great alone
East of Eden
Currently reading a little life (no spoilers please)
I have two big trips coming up this year and plan to read lonesome Dove and the count of Monte Cristo on those.
I absolutely devoured the above books and still think of them often.
I would love to help put a name to what I'm looking for and have some recommendations.
