Hey, I was wondering if y'all could suggest either a standalone novel or a book series revolving around the plot of or some variation, what if a modern person gets dropped into a fantasy world (by whatever means).
I'm more inclined towards comedy, like watching the protagonist struggling with magic and trying to explain modern slang to fantasy characters, instead of serious themes, like the protagonist struggling to survive against magical forces in the fantasy world.

There’s the classic one of this; A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur’s Court by Mark Twain. Comedy, satire, I enjoyed it. Can’t think of any more contemporary books I’ve read with the idea.
Neverwhere by Neil Gaiman
The Starless Sea by Erin Morgenstern (not much in the way of comedy but an absolutely beautiful novel)
I think there should be a lot in Chinese literature because they have a lot of shows like that
Magic Kingdom for Sale-Sold! by Terry Brooks is about a jaded lawyer who decides to respond to an ad and ends up buying a fantasy kingdom and becoming its king. It’s not comedy specifically, but I remember it having some funny characters and situations.

Every Heart a Doorway by Seanen Mcguire
Inkheart by Cornelia Funke
*In Other Lands* by Sarah Rees Davies. A boy from our world is recruited for Border Guard training in a fantasy world. Very much on the funny side.
For the opposite–people in a Fantasy world dealing with tourists from a world like ours–try *Dark Lord of Derkholm* by Diana Wyne Jones, which is also funny.
