My preferred reading material is Historical Fiction, Literary Realism, Drama, Thrillers. I'm not big on romance (I can dig a well written romance novel but it has to be written a certain way), also not a fan of fantasy or anything far fetched.
Currently Reading Remarkably Bright Creatures. I like it a lot but I don't love it.
Some of my top reads the last few months:
The Nightingale, The book thief, The kite runner, A Thousand Splendid Suns, The book of lost names, The Lost letter, The four winds, Surviving the forest,
as well as several other WWII Historical Fiction lol (too many to list)
Some of my worst reading material over the last few months, some of which I couldn't even finish:
It ends with us (yuck), Things we never got over (double yuck), Winter garden (the mother just bugged the crap out of me… The ending was good but still didn't justify emotionally abusing her dang kids their entire lives and the story was just absurdly dragged out).
I would like to find a few thrillers, maybe some good paranormal stuff for a palate cleanse lol. I really dig stories of adversity and of course any of the genres I listed above.
