For example, me and my friend just read Age of Innocence and are planning on visiting Edith Wharton’s home this summer to visit and discuss the book when we get there. We want to read more books where we can do some kind of event after reading that is somehow related to the book. It doesn’t have to be visiting a place, but can be if it’s in the New England area. Any ideas?

You’re right up the road from Henry David Thoreau’s “Walden”!
Daniel Mason’s [North Woods](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/71872930-north-woods) is right up your alley for this – it has the New England setting (primarily Western MA) and is very well written.
Louisa May Alcott’s house and Longfellow’s Wayside Inn (it’s a nice restaurant) should be doable.
Or, something set in England, followed by afternoon tea somewhere?
