I've finally started reading Lonesome Dove after seeing so many suggestions of it here. I'm so enthralled with this book that it feels like the book I've always yearned for. (The other book I've felt the same about was Pillars of the Earth.)
I wanted to ask those who've read Lonesome Dove if you laughed over and over to the reference to Gus's sign where he painted "We Don't Rent Pigs."? After laughing at it just being on the sign, I'm also laughing everytime a character brings up that point.
The thing I didn't expect from the book is the humor but it is perfect like everything else about the book.
