So this year I've gone through all of Joe Abercrombie's work, I read the full Gentlemen Bastards series (though I was never in that "I need to know what's next" mood with the series), I'm in the last chapters of The War for the Rose Throne series and I don't know what's next.

I have a strong fantasy preference, but not generally power fantasy (I like wizards and magic, but I'm not looking for a marvel movie battle in a book) I'm not really in the mood for Sci-Fi, I like strong and complex characters over pretty much anything else. I know someone is going to recommend Brandon Sanderson but I just don't enjoy his writing style. I've tried to read his work 4 or 5 times now and I just can't get more than halfway through any of the books he's written.

Bonus points if there is a good audiobook narration, a tbi years ago made reading very difficult so I rely heavily on audiobooks.

I'll give anything a shot, thanks!!

    1. I have pending reading Dreams of the Dying by Nicolas Lietzau. It is the writer of a videogame called Enderal and the novel is based on that game, so if the book is half as good as the game, it is worth reading (It is not necessary to play the game). There’s a sequel long overdue, but looking at the writer’s facebook, it looks like he’s going to publish the second and third book sometime this year.

I also have been reading Elric of Melniboné, The Eternal Champion and other stuff by Michael Moorcock. While they are shorter stories and more action packed, they do have very good characterization and an interesting world(s), so it’s worth a read. The stories of Conan the Barbarian by Robert E. Howard are also in a similar vein and very worth reading.

I know nothing about audiobooks. I saw on the writer’s facebook that Dreams of the Dying has an audiobook in audible. I don’t know much else.
