Interested in how writing is presented in fiction. Like the day to day life of a writer, facing rejection or becoming popular overnight, the actual process of thinking about a story and writing it, etc. Anything that feels real but is also of course enjoyable to read.

Yellowface by R.F. Kuang
*Beach Read* by Emily Henry is primarily a rom-com, but both leads are writers and the story talks a lot about narratives. I enjoyed it and it made me think about writing.
On a very different note, Stephen King’s *Misery* and *Secret Window, Secret Garden* both feature main characters who are writers and whose writing is important to the story. It’s not realistic in the sense that it’s horror, obviously, but Stephen King has always struck me as having a grounded, interesting perspective on being a writer.
