Hey y'all! I am looking for 1) a kinda whackadoodle book with dark humor/satire 2) that is "literary fiction", i.e. reasonably challenging and not super lightweight 3) by a woman or nonbinary person 4) who is not white; ideally Black. A book that makes you say, "wtf did I just read??? That was so fun and smart, but also uncomfy and perhaps even crazy!" It appears to be a very white publishing niche. Help!
Some examples, mostly not by Black women (not necessarily all the greatest but this is the kind of book I mean): Big Swiss, Yellowface, The First Bad Man, So Happy For You, The Dead Take the A Train, The Other Black Girl, anything by Mona Awad, anything by Melissa Broder.
This is very hard to google. You are my only hope!
