Please suggest me – a memoir about someone who suffered mental health related problems, and managed to turn their life around.
Hello, thank you for your time. I have had severe issues with depression and anxiety. Can you suggest me a book about someone who managed to get past those issues, or any mental health issues.
“Furiously Happy: A Funny Book About Horrible Things” by Jenny Lawson (heavy topics but woven in with her humor and wit)
“Wild” by Cheryl Strayed (my fave)
“Maybe You Should Talk to Someone” by Lori Gottlieb (really really good)

Loud in the House of Myself by Stacey Pershall.
Has a whole battery of mental health issues and talks about it in a very frank and honest manner.
The Man Who Couldn’t Stop by David Adam is well-researched and nicely written. Focus is on OCD and it’s really revealing about a very hard-to-understand subject.
I deal with anxiety and depression as well. Read these for a project and found them both to be very soothing (in an odd way). It was calming for me to just know there are people with much bigger struggles than me who learned to live a reasonably normal and productive life.

An Unquiet Mind by Kay Redfield Jamison. The author has manic depression (bipolar disorder) and is also now a leading researcher in the area.
