Hello, I'm looking to learn more and read up on Japanese and Greek mythology. If anyone has recommendations I'd be very grateful.

For japanese I read that the Kojiki is a good book, but the English translation by Gustav Heldt seems to be very mixed with the names all being literally translated into English according to reviews.

One of my all-time favorite fiction books. Technically it’s a mythology retelling, but the author has such a deep knowledge of the subject and remarkable writing skills that it reads more like a missing piece of the original myths, while at the same time offering you a slightly different perspective. And it’s just such a beautiful, captivating, and empowering story, I can’t even say how many times I’ve read it.
