My friend and I both love reading but have very different tastes in books (she likes sci-fi/fantasies, while I prefer historical fiction or contemporary novels). We both agreed though that we'd really like to try reading an occasional "smut" novel but always have issues when we try to read one. She, for example, cannot read anything with SA scenes or scenes that feel less than consensual. I, on the other hand, tend to have problems with the writing in smut novels (a lot of times, I feel like the writing isn't actually good and just makes me cringe, especially when reading the non-smutty scenes).
Essentially what we're looking for is a well-written novel (with no SA scenes) with a strong plot line that just happens to have really nice smut scenes in it lol Any recommendations?
