I’m heading to Basic Combat Training and I’m allowed one religious text. What should I bring?

I’m agnostic, raised Catholic. I’m familiar with the Bible and would like to read something else. I’m not always great at deciphering meaning from abstraction so I’d like something that is philosophical but also relatively straightforward and accessible.
