And no, I don't mean generic postapocalyptic stuff like The Road, heartwrenching as it is, nor Metro 2033, despite having the required shooting and monsters. I've also read the Canticle thing and A Boy and His Dog, so they0re out too.

-The apocalypse happens in the future, but far enough technology we don't have today or is very limited appears.

-Some of the mutants descend from humans, and some of those are more or less people rather than just monsters.
