Looking for a book with a reverse “came back wrong” trope

I’m looking for a book with the “came back wrong” trope (where a character is resurrected, but was changed for the worse in the process) but backwards. So the other characters change for the worse in their efforts to resurrect their loved one. I have never heard of a book with this kind of plot before, and I’d love some recommendations if anyone knows any!!
