Looking for a book that deals with the “after” of a kidnapping

Usually the story ends with the kidnapping victim being found right in time, and I want to know what happens next. It could be different genres, I just really want to find a book that starts where the story usually ends. All I've found so far are books where the kidnapping survivor becomes a detective hunting the person who kidnapped them and that doesn't really scratch that itch for me.
