Suggest me a book about mythologies, folklore and symbolism from around the world
Ideally a book that gives a good overview about the popular stories from different religions and cultures and that isnt too dry. I want to improve my general knowlesge and my ability to recognize symbolism in works of art.
Macunaima by Mario de Andrade is a classic fantasy novel that blends different stories from Amazonian mythology and folklore. The Engel translation has all the original folktales in the footnotes.
