I lost my mom recently. I have had a tough time getting through books these last few years, but used to be an avid reader.
A few weeks before she passed, I saw the movie Wild (my mom was in the hospital at this time). I didn't expect it to have anything to do with the death of a parent, but it gave me so much to think about and I decided to buy the book. It took 5 months for me to even pick it up, but it has been the only thing that has helped me to begin dealing with my grief. I can hardly get through a chapter without stopping 4 times to cry.
I'm nearing the end and starting to feel anxious about facing my life again without something else to help me get by. Does anyone have suggestions of books that may help me to deal with the loss of my mom?
Note: I got engaged on the day my mom passed and I have an extremely heavy heart trying to plan a wedding that she won't be there for. I don't necessarily want to avoid this subject, but if the suggestion touches on it, I think I'd like to be aware going into it so I can prepare myself.
Thanks in advance for the help, readers <3

As i will recommend “”Everything is Fucked By Mark Manson “” where he talks about hope author talks about how blind optimism, where we always expect things to turn out perfectly, can lead to disappointment and frustration when reality doesn’t match our expectations.
Instead of hoping for everything to be perfect, he suggests to focus on what we can control and take action to improve our lives, even in the face of difficulties and many more things. i suggest you read this book.
A Year of Magical Thinking by Joan Didion
