Suggestions for books similar to Enders Game by Orson Scott Card

Looking for some emotionally gripping, fast paced and borderline tragic sci-fi books. I loooved the emotional complexities of each character in Enders Game. And it’s plenty intense for adults as well. Any suggestions?
