Hello all. i just finished Carrie and I quite enjoyed it. I also really liked A Thousand Splendid Suns. I’m now looking for something where a main character is repeatedly broken, constantly suffering and generally hopeless. I’m looking for something that is intense and emotionally gripping. I am not terribly interested in historical war-type stories. I don’t particularly dislike memoirs, but am more inclined towards fiction. I also don’t like sex-heavy books but a scene here and there is okay.
