Suggest me a book with this sort of description

I want to read a book that’s older and about historical events or historical experiences (examples) but talks about hardships getting in the way of life, like it could be love, too harsh of expectations, hard time on yourself, or lack of confidence, but it’s about persevering at the end. Does anyone have a book like this?? All suggestions are welcome!
