Suggest me a fiction book that has progression of years in between it’s chapters.

Hi, as the title says, looking for something that has years between chapters, preferably a fictional autobiography but it's flexible for me, just want something that follows one character over the years as I want some inspiration for my own writings.

Edit: preferably something on the darker or depressing side as well.
