hi everyone! I'd really love to learn more about urban planning, esp how it can be used to create sustainable cities (I'm not sure if biophilic is the word?)—I recently ordered "happy city" and I'm really excited to read it!
I want to read about how the design of a city affects our lifestyles, mindsets, cultures, etc—like walkable cities vs. non-walkable cities, third places, etc. I also want to know more about how urban planning is approached in other countries (I'm in north america) and how it contributes to cultural distinctions.
I'm also interested in the intersectionality between gender & urban theory—like the saying "it takes a village to raise a child." where are these villages now? if they're less prominent, what has been the effect on family units and our society?
lifestyle concepts such as hygge, ikigai, lagom, and ubuntu are also interesting to me as of late; I want to approach life in a more mindful way, and want to learn more about how different cultures have approached doing the same 🙂
I know this was a lot, so if you read until the end, thank you! I'm really excited to learn more!
