[Hardwired](https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/304761.Hardwired) by Walter Jon Williams. It’s not the *very* beginning, but there’s a horrible sex scene with demeaning stereotypes of both bisexuality and being transgender. Otherwise, the book has good homosexual representation. I just wish that beginning sex scene wasn’t the way it is.
