Hi! Not sure if this is the best place to post this, I’ll share it to a couple groups just in case. My collection will be sitting in storage for somewhere between 4-6 months and I want to make sure they aren’t ruined in the process.
I bought acid free paper to separate each of them and I have them in small boxes, stacked just like they would be on a bookshelf. I will be putting the cardboard boxes of books into a couple of plastic tote storage bins to protect from pests and water damage.
My concern comes in with the brown paper Walmart bags I used to stuff the empty spaces in the boxes so things wouldn’t move around. I didn’t even think about how those could be not acid free and sealed everything up. Should I open every. single. box. back up and put acid free paper in between the brown paper and my books?
TLDR: will brown paper touching small parts of the spines of my books for 4-6 months ruin them because I’m not sure if it’s acid free?
