I’m wanting to read a book that takes place during summer but not a cheesy romcom or anything YA. Something that feels really traditional Americana summer (carnivals/piers/beach/bike rides/mall). Preferably a first person female main character. Romance is fine but don’t want it to be the entire plot. I love the movie Aquamarine because of the scenery and the strong female friendships. I really want to read something similar but more mature. (If it helps I’m 25f)
