Basically something (for example shaman King it’s not a book but just for example) where the main character allows spirits to possess them and the plot revolves are that. They can get their power from that or anything really

Children of Blood and Bone?!?! Maybe. The MC does interact with dead when she has her powers but it’s not what the story is about.
