What is a great fiction book that would interest a non-fiction reader for its realism (ideally it is quite recent as well)?

Thank you and I enjoy non fiction since it feels like I learn something from each book. Fiction feels less satisfying often times. Can someone suggest a fiction book that still works for me? Carrion Comfort was a good fiction work in its high level of detail. Dune held together well. Jurassic Park. Those are favorites.
