I can't think of a single horror story where the protagonists survive whatever supernatural horror they've encountered that doesn't end with everything being wrapped up and forgotten.
You could argue a zombie apocalypse is what I'm looking for, but it's not quite the same as, say, the events of The Shining being revealed to the world at large after they end (the sequel, Doctor Sleep, is another localised horror story).
I want to see how the rest of the world reacts to undeniable proof of a possession or haunting!
