Easy reads with big ideas?

I found the psychological horror called We Spread by Iain reid to be a great example of this. It was a literary fiction but that didn’t mean it was a hard read like some others. It was actually very simplistic but it had a lot of big questions and thoughts about peoples fear of old age.

I will note, I am not a big horror reader. I only read it sometimes. I prefer sci-fi/fantasy.
