    1. Persuasion by Jane Austen.

It tells you something different about you and life every time you read it.

It’s a world of pain and hope and love and family. It’s melancholy and hilarious. It has the best love declaration in novel history.

*”Because when I read, I don’t really read; I pop a beautiful sentence in my mouth and suck it like a fruit drop, or I sip it like a liqueur until the thought dissolves in me like alcohol, infusing brain and heart and coursing on through the veins to the root of each blood vessel”*

Bohumil Hrabal, *Too Loud a Solitude*

Never has a better novel been written about books, about reading, about freedom and oppression. It’s a small book but compacted into it are countless others. A genuinely great experience.
