Dayspring by Anthony Oliveira and Him by Geoff Ryan are two books that play around with the Bible. In Dayspring Jesus is homoerotic and in love with a disciple. In Him he’s trans. Both are meticulously researched and well crafted- I couldn’t put them down.
I’ve searched high and low and turned up nothing that’s similar. I’m looking for books that use the Bible, God, Jesus, and faith as points from which to develop subversive stories. Any suggestions or ideas?
