Hello! After a (relatively long and somewhat embarrassing) hiatus from reading fiction, I've decided to return — and would ask of the community to recommend some books similar to my favorites to get me back on track. Some of my absolute favorites that spring to mind immediately, in no particular order, include The Secret History, Fahrenheit 451, We, Dune, The Memory Police, 1984, Animal Farm, American Gods, The Man in the High Castle, Brave New World, The Machine Stops, and Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? Some are better than others (The Memory Police has stayed with me for years and years) while others I read and appreciate primarily for its literary significance (We). I'm hoping for something/anything similar to these, but also very much willing to branch out and try something new!
